The Introduction of Tipped PCBN Insert 


  • CCGW is an 80-degree diamond-shaped insert with a 7-degree relief angle. It is made of PCBN composite sheet with excellent performance. It is a composite PCBN insert with a carbide base inlaid with a CBN tip. It is commonly used in finishing and semi-finishing cast iron and hardened steel. It is commonly used as boring inserts. Common used material grades are as follows:

  • CCGW series inlaid composite PCBN inserts are often used as boring inserts, which can withstand continuous, intermittent and heavy interrupted machining conditions. There are different types of insert materials for cast iron and hardened steel parts, which can fully meet different customer needs.


  • CCGW compound PCBN inserts are conventional ISO standard triangular inserts. Commonly used models are CCGW0602, CCGW09T3, CCGW1204, etc. The smallest insert can be CCGW0402. Other non-standard cutting edges, rounded corners and chamfer can be customized.

    When CCGW PCBN used as a boring insert, we can also provide a matching boring tool holder. The CCGW0402 insert can process a hole whose diameter is larger than 6mm, providing convenience for small hole processing. It is no longer necessary to use a welding type turning tool. Adopt Boring CBN inserts is more convenient and efficient.

  • CCGW composite PCBN inserts are often used for finishing and semi-finishing quenched workpiece, such as gear inner holes, gear end faces, gear outer circles and gear shafts, etc., as well as gray cast iron workpiece, such as brake discs, brake drums, engine blocks, etc.


  • When machining hardened steel, CCGW composite PCBN inserts can be coated. After coating, the tool life will be increased by 30%-45% compared with uncoated inserts, and the finish will also be improved.
